Infrared Sauna
Infrared saunas were developed after WWII, and have been used in Japan ever since the 1970s. The idea was to recreate the same experience similar to a vigorous exercise; for example, when you run half a mile (804.67 meters/880 yards), you feel hot and sweaty. Your heart pounds heavily, and your skin opens up the sweat pores in an attempt to cool the body. A similar process occurs with an infrared sauna. But with an infrared sauna, you don’t need to engage in heavy exercise. You simply sit back inside a wooden room. The strategically positioned infrared panels will warm your body and increase your metabolism and heart rate
Infrared Saunas produce the same infrared heat that’s produced by the sun, and Infrared heat is required for all living things for optimum health. This radiant heat increases the thermal energy in joints, muscles, and tissues. When used as intended as part of a healthy lifestyle, infrared saunas may help living well with certain chronic diseases or conditions.
Infrared heat is all around us and you have felt it from sources like fire, heated sand on the beach, and the sun (without the harmful ultraviolet waves that the sun gives off). Just as visible light has a range of wavelengths (running from red to violet), so does infrared light: longer wavelength infrared waves are thermal, while short or near infrared waves are not hot at all, in fact, you cannot even feel them. Near and mid infrared enhance the benefits of far infrared.
What are the benefits of using an Infrared Sauna regularly?
Weight Loss & Increased Metabolism
According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, regular use of a sauna imparts a similar boost on the cardiovascular system as running. As you relax in the gentle infrared heat, your body is hard at work producing sweat, pumping blood, and burning calories. As your body increases sweat production to cool itself, your heart works harder to pump blood at a greater rate to boost circulation. This increase in your metabolism may burn calories.
Temporary Muscle Pain Relief
Using the infrared sauna as intended, and as part of a healthy lifestyle, promotes temporary increases in blood flow to muscles and may offer temporary relief of arthritic pain. Muscles relax best when tissues are warm, offering the opportunity for greater flexibility and range of motion. Far Infrared heat may help relieve muscle tension by increasing the thermal energy in your muscles.
Ease Joint Pain And Stiffness
Infrared heat may temporarily ease joint pain and stiffness. Increased thermal energy to the joints may promote a temporary increase in blood flow. Increased thermal energy may reduce stiffness and increase the range of motion.
Stress and Fatigue Reduction
Just a few minutes in the gentle warmth of an infrared sauna will help you feel relaxed, rejuvenated, and renewed.
Many Jacuzzi® sauna customers comment on how much they look forward to their Clearlight Infrared Sauna® session, as it’s a great time to get away and release any built-up tension and stress. It’s like having a day spa in your home, open all the time for your convenience.
Improves Skin
The profuse sweating achieved after just a few minutes in the Infrared Sauna will allow impurities in the pores to come out. The temporary increase in local blood circulation may help reduce the risk of certain chronic skin conditions.
